Hawkeye To Premiere With Two Episodes, Watch A Teaser With New Footage

Here’s some exciting news for MCU fans to help kick off your holiday in style. Disney+ has revealed plans to launch Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye series with two episodes upon its November 24 debut. After the debut, subsequent episodes will be out every Wednesday. It is going to be the fifth television series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and produced by Marvel Studios. It shares continuity with other films in the franchise such as “Loki” and “Wanda Vision”, whose events take place after the Thanos “Snap” in “Avengers: Endgame” (2019).

Along with the exciting announcement, Disney and Marvel Studios also unveiled a new teaser trailer that contains some new footage from the upcoming series. Let’s check it out:

The teaser provides better insight into Hawkeyes’ story arch. While in New York City post-Decimation, Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) must work together with the young archer Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) to confront enemies from his past as Ronin in order to get back to his family in time for Christmas. The action-packed spot is set to the cheery “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year“ Christmas song by Andy Williams.

Filming of the six-episode series began on December 2020, with airing expected to conclude on December 22. Starring alongside Renner and Steinfeld are Fra Fee, Vera Farmiga, Tony Dalton, Brian d’Arcy James, Zahn McClarnon, and Alaqua Cox as Echo / Maya Lopez. (A spin-off series focused on Cox’s character Echo is in development). Director Rhys Thomas (SNL & Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and filmmaking duo Bert & Bertie (Troop Zero) were hired to direct different blocks of the series.

Clint Barton, an expert hand-to-hand combatant, marksman, and archer, was initially an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. before Steve Rogers (Captain America) recruited him as one of the founding members of the Avengers. Barton’s first appearance was a brief cameo in “Thor” (2011), but he eventually became a central figure of the MCU, appearing in five films as of 2021. This is the first time the character will take a lead role. Most of the latest installments of Disney+ shows have been quite good at expanding each characters’ story arch, as can be seen with “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier “, “WandaVision”, and “Loki”.

Fans can also look forward to the onscreen introduction of many new characters to the MCU family through shows like “Moon Knight”, got “Armor Wars”, “She-Hulk”, “Ironheart”, “Armor Wars”, “Secret Invasion”, and “Ms. Marvel” which are all at various stages of development. Not to mention the untitled “Wakanda” series being developed by Ryan Coogler. Clearly, we’re in no danger of running out of entertaining Marvel superheroes any time soon.
