‘Unwelcome’ Trailer: Ant-Man’s Hannah John-Kamen Stars In Irish Creature-Horror Film

“Ant-Man and The Wasp” star Hannah John-Kamen faces a new challenge altogether as she takes on killer goblins in “Unwelcome”.

Warner Bros has released the first trailer for the new creature feature, previously titled ‘The Little People’, as a couple gets more than they bargained for when they move from London to rural Ireland.

In the trailer, we see Maya (Hannah John-Kamen, Black Mirror) and Jamie (Douglas Booth, Loving VincentThe Dirt ) star in the creature feature, as a couple who escape their urban nightmare to the tranquility of rural Ireland, only to hear stories of mysterious beings who live in the gnarled, ancient wood at the foot of their new garden. As warned by their new neighbors, in Irish mythology, the Redcaps will come when called to help souls in dire need of rescue, but it’s crucial to remember that there is always a dear price to pay for their aid.

Checkout the trailer below.

When Maya realises she’s under threat by a local family company they hired to do building repairs to their home, she finds herself turning to the woods at the bottom of her garden and the creatures within it to ensure the safety of her child. Unwelcome had us already with the promise of killer goblins, but this first trailer has sold us even more. Bring it on.

Directed by Jon Wright and based on an original screenplay by Mark Stay, the movie also stars Derry Girls‘ Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, “Game of Thrones” star Kristian Nairn, The Young Offenders‘ Chris Walley, Colm Meaney and Niamh Cusack.

Before “Unwelcome” hits cinemas next year, we’ll be seeing Hannah John-Kamen in the new “Resident Evil” movie in the iconic role of Jill Valentine, and she’s also landed the lead role in the long-awaited “Red Sonja” movie.

“Unwelcome” is released in cinemas on February 4, 2022.
